Dead Sea Salt Scrub – Spa Treatment in Your Own Bathtub
Salt scrubs have long been a standard treatment in the finest spas, particularly those using Dead Sea salts. The grains of salt start off on the outside of the skin by exfoliating (scrubbing off dead skin cells) which leaves fresher, healthier skin. This is a large part of that healthy glow that you see when you leave the spa.
This type of product will also clean deep within your pores, preventing bacteria from causing blackheads or acne. The scrub also has the additional benefit of stimulating good blood circulation to the skin. This contributes to the above mentioned glow but also helps speed cell renewal for younger, firmer, healthier skin.
Using a Dead Sea salt scrub has even more benefits due to the extremely high mineral content in these special salts. At least 26 minerals have been identified in the Dead Sea that are all vital to healthy skin formation. Regular bath salts are typically made of epsom salts which are mainly sodium chloride – the same salt you use at the dinner table. While it will exfoliate your skin, there aren’t any long term benefits like there is with the other skin nourishin minerals to be found in Dead Sea salt scrubs.
Many of the same minerals that are naturally found in the skin are in the Dead Sea salts. By using a scrub made up of these salts, you are actually replenishing the stores found in your skin. As they are absorbed, the minerals speed cell regeneration and stimulate creation of collagen and elastin. That means that as you scrub the old, dead and dull skin cells away, new cells are being formed that are stronger and healthier. Not only can this help relieve or even cure certain skin disorders such as psoriasis, most people also see a reduction in wrinkling with regular use.
